Finance Manipulation & Poor Service – Kia Pinetown
On 07 February 2026, I visited Kia Pinetown looking for a vehicle around R150k. I dealt with Scelo and Desigan, and we agreed on a 2021 Grand i10 for R162,000 all inclusive.
I submitted my documents on 09 February and had to constantly follow up myself for feedback.
On 11 February, I was told my finance was approved — but the car was “sold.” This after my deal was already in process.
It then came to light that:
Finance was app**** for at ±R175,000 instead of the agreed R162,000.
A service plan was added without my consent.
My R40,000 deposit was excluded from the finance application, despite me clearly stating (with WhatsApp proof) that it must be included.
I was never informed that the full amount was being financed or that a service plan was added.
Shortly after, I was offered a more expensive Kia Picanto for R170,000. This makes me question whether the inflated finance amount was intentional to upsell me.
The Dealer Principal (or that's what Scelo advised his name was Nimhal)promised to call me back at 15h00 on 11 February — that never happened.
Very poor communication, lack of transparency, and questionable conduct. One star is generous
