Do your Due Diligence on After sales before buying a Kia
I would briefly like to take you through our Kia experience. We purchased the new K2700 Late Feb'17. The vehicle stood in a garage until May as we purchased a franchise and only found premises May. Late May we contacted Kia East Rand to say the brakes were making a horrible noise (about 3000kms on it), like metal on metal. We were told nothing wrong and wait until service. We also made mention that the vehicle was pulling to the left. We were told to do a wheel alignment which was done and now the steering wheel is completely skew when driving. On the service due (10 000km) we booked vehicle in. We were told they would attend to the brakes under warranty and immediately skim them on the day. We got the vehicle back and believe this or not this is all true: Zero feedback on vehicle, when we asked after about to leave we were told they must do brakes under warranty? If we never asked nothing would have been even discussed. We never received any feedback on brakes wear (note how do we know if brake are at 50% if making such a bad noise like metal on metal we are driving not knowing if we are able to make the next service on them. We never got the std green form stating feedback as we understand. The vehicle was never cleaned at all. Normally vehicles go through a wash process, our vehicle as dirty as taken in. So what about dripping oil etc? I found our service manual covered in oil in the glove compartment? Then, we got home and found a white stain all over the bumper. I left it as we decided to get our driver to wash the vehicle during the week. Last night my wife said there is water dripping from the bumper every time she gets to work or home. I opened the Bonnet only to find the radiator reserve bottle cap is completely off and hanging by the clip. The coolant/water is spilling each time we accelerate or brake? Then to make matters worse the bottle is after this few days still about 2cm over the full limit? The mechanic probably left the cap off hoping to allow the excess to spill out. Then, Monday I called Kia for the brakes only to hear again the words it must be under warranty but never does the conversation lead towards you are doing a claim? I then put my foot down and said let's move past the words warranty and focus on when are we intending auctioning these words. I was told I would be contacted Tuesday am. Well it is 3-30pm now and not a word. We complained about this when the vehicle was still brand new. Just for the record we opened the 1st branch and are in the process of opening a few more and this you can take to the bank, we will use a wheelbarrow to transport our appliances before buying another Kia. The problem in today's time is customer service is a thing of the past it is all about moving metal. Then we ask ourselves why our companies fail!!!!!
