Diagnostic fees at Kia Motors Bloemfontein

I have a Kia motor with electronic sliding doors. For some reason the electronics of the doors gave an issue and you cannot open the 2 sliding doors as a result.

I booked the motor for a service at Kia Motors Bloemfontein.

On delivering the vehicle, I was told that I had to pay an diagnostic fee of R930 to inspect the doors. I have already diagnosed the issue. I wanted a quote to repair.

Kia phoned me 2 hours later, telling me that they are going to charge another R3 000 diagnostic fee to investigate further.

They again told me that this is only a diagnostic fee. No commitment or price to quote to fix the issue.

In my mind this is unfair billing practices by the dealer.

They sell and service these vehicles every day, surely they should have a very good idea what is wrong and if it might be an easy fix or a more difficult fix, they can quote on both scenarios without a diagnostic fee.

I have tried to explain to them but they just said, that is what it is.

That is not good customer service and I feel helpless against it.

Please help me to communicate my disappointment on a another forum, as I am at a dead end with the supplier.
