Complaint
Good day,
I would like to lodge a complaint regarding the services of Kia Diep River, in Cape Town. My spouse bought a car at this branch in December 2020. The car is a pre owned from Avis car rentals from Isando. My spouse wanted a demo car from Kia Motors, she was not aware that the car she bought was a pre owned car from another company. I spoke with the sales agent regarding that some time earlier in January and reassured me that he told her that she does not qualify for a demo. I noticed that there was paint work done on the front bumper of the car because there's a difference in color on the car between the bumper and the body of the car. The black components of the of the front bumper have particles is spray painting. The edges of the bumper have a thick layer of paint, which the consultant said it has no effect on the value of the vehicle but nonetheless it clearly shows that the bumper was repaired. I have also attached proof from Avis that the bumper was repaired. The wind screen has a chip, proof attached as well.
She was not advised that the vehicle has no service plan, until we received a phone call from Kia Head Office offering a monthly premium of a service plan. The consultant confirmed and was supposed to send a computer of the contract, of which that never happened. I have requested him via WhatsApp to do so and to send me the sales managers email address, even then he did not respond but read my messages. I tried calling him, he never came back to me as he knows my number from WhatsApp messages.
The car was issued with a temporary license ending on the last day of December 2020 and there was no word until I had to push for them to request another one, which I received. The second temporary also expired and I told them before it did. I was given the new plate numbers, only, with no word as to when we will get our license disc and there hasn't been any word from the dealer. The second temp expired 20 January 2021 and at the moment we are driving with a car that is a risk of a ticket driving it as it doesn't have a disc a week later after it expired. The dealer is quiet and has taken these complaints lightly as he brushed them off. When opening or closing the front electric windows, and the head lights are on at night, you can see that the lights dim down whether you open or close them. There's an effect.
This email is after attempts of trying hard to avoid lodging a formal complaint but I am left with no choice as Ashraf is no longer interested in communicating with us as the customers. This gives me a bad impression of what the after sales service is at Kia as a whole. That once you sign on the doted lined for a vehicle purchase, you are no longer important to the company as long as the Kia receive their money. This is rather a very disappointing experience than what we expect from a huge company like. In this regard, it paves a bad reputation and that I do not recommend Kia Motors to any of my family members, friends and others who ask me about the services that you render. I am extremely disappointed and this whole car issue has painted a negative picture. I need urgent answers regarding this and to know what action will be taken with regards to all these issues, including the ignorance from the sales consultant, be resolved. I need an urgent response and a license disc urgently. I have sent a message to the dealer to indicate that, for any tickets that we get for driving around a car with expired car disc, will be the sole responsibility of the dealer as we were initially told the disc would be delivered before the end of December 2020.
I have attached photos as proof as well.
A deeply concerned and a disappointed customer with extreme frustrations of poor service. Your urgent response in this matter is highly appreciated.
Regards,
