Battery

I have purchased my Kia sonet a year ago and the battery started going me problems within the first 8 -9 months, I did not report it then, I only reported it when it happened for the 3rd times and after reporting it , I had to claim from my booster warranty for the battery to be replaced which I felt it was not fair. I wonder what kind of battery was installed when I purchased my car.
