Bad Service
I bought my car in November 2017 as a one-year old demo model with 18,000km In about July 2018 we noticed it was battling to start, fuel consumption went up and there was a heavy fuel smell in the car after the engine was switched off after driving. The car was booked into Kia Fourways in August 2018. We were advised that there was a recall to replace timing belt and a tensioner needed replacing. Both were done. About 2 weeks later the problem persisted. We took it back to Kia Fourways and we were advised that the software was not updated. This was done. Still the problem continued. We repeatedly phoned Kia Fourways. We needed to book our car in but as we only have one car, we needed a courtesy car. Kia Fourways never came back to us. The problem continued. We sent the car in to Kia Centurion (who we bought car from) for its 45,00km service in November 2018. We told them about the problem. They serviced the car and "reset adaptive values for HFC" Problem continues. My wife phoned Kia head office 2018/12/05 to ask for assistance. To date no response from them. Before the engine was opened the car was averaging 6.5-7.5L/100km. My last tank got me 9.1L/100km. The car is still difficult to start, there is still a heavy fuel smell after switching it off and fuel consumption is terrible from what it was. My driving style has not changed. We still drive the same routs same times of days to/from work. This is not a driving style issue.
