1-Star Review – Unauthorised Vehicle Finance Application

I am extremely concerned and disappointed by what has happened.

I did not apply for a Kia Sonet or any vehicle finance through Kia Fourways, yet today I received a notification from my bank confirming that my bank statements had been shared with financial institutions in connection with a credit application.

I immediately contacted the relevant banks to establish what was happening, and I was informed that the application had apparently been submitted through Kia Motors Fourways.

I did not give Kia Fourways permission to apply for vehicle finance on my behalf, nor did I authorise anyone to access or submit my bank statements for this purpose. I have also noticed hard credit enquiries on my credit profile relating to an application I did not make.

This is extremely serious because it involves my personal and financial information being used without my knowledge or consent.

I would like Kia Fourways to urgently investigate and explain:

Who submitted the vehicle finance application? How was my personal information obtained? Why was my bank statement requested/shared? Who authorised the credit application? Why were hard enquiries conducted on my credit profile without my consent?

I consider this a serious matter and will be reporting it to the relevant authorities, including opening a ***** case with the South African Police Service (SAPS). I will also be disputing the unauthorised credit enquiries with the relevant credit bureaus.

I expect Kia Fourways to investigate this matter urgently and provide me with a clear explanation and all documentation relating to the application.
