Kia East Rand thieving ********
I purchased a KIA Picanto 1.2 smart in April 2018. Apon offers being sent through etc I explicitly told the sales consultant Dendré Strydom that I do not want any add-ons such as a maintenance plan etc. He confirmed that it would not be part of the package. The day I had gone in to sign and take ownership of the vehicle, I noticed that said maintenance plan and another policy ( scratch and dent ) has been added to my financing . I questioned this , and was told not to worry it would be removed. My contract was electronic , and I explained that I do not agree with the addition of the policies . I was told not to worry about it as jy would be removed. I had sent an email stating that they need to remove these policies again. I again made contact after the fact and confirmed that these have been removed .
In February 2021 I was retrenched and I made contact with MFC , to enquire if I do have credit insurance ( as I had still not received my contract from KIA wast rand in spite of having asked several times ) MFC informed me that these two policies were still added to my financing .
I contacted Kia Customer service , who made contact with Reynard, the manager ( also the manager who had assured me that the policies will be removed)
I received my contract , and color me surprised to see that the policies were never removed.
These two policies with intrest amount to an approximate amount of +- R 18000 .
I was able to start a way forward of returning the funds for the maintenance plan from Liquid Capital with a lot of back and forth , many phone calls and emails.
However the scratch and dent policy cannot be recovered. Kia East rand manager is fully aware that it is due to his sales staffs underhanded and devious manners that I was unaware that this policy was still added to my contract, and I have been paying for this without my consent or knowledge. I had asked that they please refund my finance house , however they are “unable “ to rectify the situation as apparently the policy had already ended in 2020.
This is so very shady. The sales staff are able to add items , make a commission of these unsuspecting customers, and leave the company. And we the paying clients just have to live with what most certainly is ******* and ******* .
#kiaeastrand #kiasouthafrica is this how you do business?
