KIA Diep River - Terrible Service Experience
Bought a vehicle from the Kia Diep River Pre-owned section earlier this month (I they are part of Motus as I understand). I must admit, it was a quick transaction as I had 2 offers on my current vehicle, 1 being a trade-in at another of their Motus branches, but they didn’t had a vehicle I was looking for. Nevertheless, spotted the 2021 Renault Sandero Stepway online Tuesday evening, went in Wednesday morning to view the vehicle. Chatted to the Sales guy about sorting out a good deal. In the conversation they agreed to throw in the on-the-road fees inclusive in the vehicle price.
I had planned to do a trade-in with my Tata Bolt if they could meet the current offers I already had for my vehicle. After assessment, they had offered a pathetic offer of R50k, when I had 2 offers of R80k. R50k was still below settlement of the vehicle.
Nevertheless, I proceeded with the previous cash offer and sold my vehicle the next day for R80k (Thursday). In the meanwhile the deal closure for the Renault had been underway as finance had been approved from my side by Wesbank. After getting a call from their F&I Manager who had submitted the deal to Wesbank which included the on-the-road costs, I received a message from the Sales guy stating that the on-the-road fees were no longer included as the Manager said it would’ve only been done if had traded in my vehicle? None of this was mentioned before, and come on, really R80k vs R50k? Which left me with a R21k dep.
Nevertheless, emails went back and forth with Sales Manager not budging. Dealer Principle bcc’d in, also said nothing. I could see this was going nowhere, and because I was car-less, and was somewhat desperate for a vehicle as it was required for the weekend’s planned project..
I had then asked Wesbank to re-quote with one-the-road included to save time, which was approved not long after. I advised the dealership that I was approved for the amount including the extra cost, which was used in an argument against me after the complaint was lodged with the dealer principle.
So in summary, KIA Diep River is not an ethical place of business and as much as they say they will look after the customer, they look after their pockets. From ground sales through to Management, they are just ruthless with no “good customer experience” as a priority. Its disgusting when you had to spend all this money on a vehicle and they can’t look after you.
Disgusted and Appalled are nice words being used at this time.
