Bad service
I booked my vehicle in at Renault in Stikland on Thursday 16th January 2020. When I booked the vehicle in I specifically told the lady that booked in my car what I needed fixed on the and what posed as problems which were the following: Car needed to be serviced I requested the brakes to be checked and to be advised if only the pads needed to be replaced or if both the discs and pads needed to be replaced. I advised about an injection system error And the most important thing I told her was that I am unable to see how much petrol is in my car because the petrol gauge is always flashing and the petrol tank empty light stays on. A mechanic then came to my vehicle and I explained and showed him the very same thing. I explained to him it's very important that it get checked and that it was my biggest concern. I also told them to do the wheel alignment and balancing of the vehicle.
Later that day I got a call from the service advisor Toni who told me the following :
The service had been completed The brake discs and pads had been replaced , this after I specifically asked that they first check that its necessary to replace both. The injection system error was removed and fixed The petrol gauge problem was fixed as well I was then told that there was a parking assist error coming up and it would cost R2400 to strip the wiring , I told them to proceed to check seeing that all other problems had been sorted.
On Friday the 17th January I was called to advise that the stripping of the wiring was done and that a part had to be replaced. I told them not to order it because I dont gave any further funds to spend on the vehicle . I was told to fetch my vehicle.
On Monday the 20th January 2020 I proceeded to go pay and fetch my vehicle , after paying for everything which amounted to R16100 the mechanic brought my vehicle. I was told there is a oil leak on the vehicle and they cannot trace where it is coming from , more money that I would have to cough out to get the engine cleaned and then the inconvenience of bringing the car back , anyway so I proceed to get in my vehicle and drive home and to my shock and horror, the petrol gauge error was not fixed .
I went back inside and told Toni about this who advised she wasn't aware of that problem , the mechanic that I told about the problem also wasn't aware . Nobody was aware of anything . The car was taken in again and later that day I was fetched by the driver only to be hit with a estimate of R8200 to replace a fuel pump.
Really Renault , how ridiculous can you be ! I explained to Toni , I am a single mom of 2 kids , with no help from my ex husband financially I already spent all my savings to try and get the car fixed and this is what renault does . Unprofessional service , making as if I am a **** after I told 2 people how important that was to be fixed. Toni told me she would speak to the manager and parts manager and phone me the next day , to date I haven't received a call. And the injection system error that I was charged in excess of R800 for is still there after they told me it is fixed.
Why would you suggest that I pay R2400 for stripping of wires for a park assist , I dont use that function it was a waste of money and why replace the discs and pads when I asked if it is neccessary to replace both dirt tell me
I am disgusted in this service , and I cant wait to get rid of this car and never buy a renault again
