Good Day

On the 18 August 2021 at around 13h00, I visited khayelitsha hospital regarding an issue with operation that I did a year ago at that hospital.

I was asked to sit in the waiting room after being screened, then another patient said I must open a folder or I will never be assisted, I then went to open a folder, once I was done I went back to the nurse that said I must sit and wait, I gave her the folder, I then asked why did you not tell me to go open a folder, she then said I was not sent by the clinic to the hospital, they only help people that are sent by the clinics.

I then explained to her that I have been to the clinic for more than a year, and my operation is still bleeding till today, definitely that shows the clinic cannot cope with this situation, she then said she will ask a doctor and I can explain my story to her/him.

She went to call a DR who did not even want to listen to what I was trying to say, he then told me to go to the clinic there's nothing they can do.

I then told him the operation was done here not at the clinic, I have been to the clinic and all I am getting is tablets, he can have a look maybe he might see there is something wrong with this operation because it's a year later now, he then told me he does not have to look on anything I must go to the clinic.

I am not sure whether the health system allows people to be chased away from hospital if they are not getting the help they need, it has been a long Jearney that I had with the khayelitsha hospital from day one, everytime I am there I get chased away, even when you tell them the clinics are useless, you sit the whole day and get painkillers, I am not looking for painkillers, I want my operation to be fixed, this has been going over a year with this back and forth.
