ZCC Kganya insurance claim

Good day all!! My mom was a full member of ZCC at Naledi for more than 30 years and she also served as in complaints department at church which she took down complains of members of the church and resolve later with senior members, she paid her church insurance (Kganya) for the entire lifetime up until she got sick and hospitalized. That made her insurance book to default for October and November 2012 then she passed on December 2012 from the confirmation we are aware of.

In the decline letter Kganya now says Sanlam has declined the claim due to one or more membership contributions were were missed in the three consecutive calendar months. Which means as is said she didn't pay Feb, March, April then she started paying again then after she got sick and unable to even do their own church work as in all they care about was insurance money, how long she served the congregation and the hell we went through as we buried our mother it's like devil wants us to relieve the previous moments which we even buried and forgot about. Kganya is now shifting blame to Sanlam because if it was Sanlam it would've sent a letter with it's letter head which in this case Sanlam it's only mentioned twice atleast and Sanlam is private entity which is only told by beneficiary to release claim after process

Here's the real story. After 10-11 years after our mothers burial beginning of August 2023 an sms came in that there was still unclaimed insurance for our mother. Okay picked up a phone and made a call to get more information. We were advised on a claim processes and forms and what will be needed from our end which we managed to gather to prepare for submission.

We then went to the church we were told to come in 2 days because the pastor who deals with this is not around, however when we get calls from the head office we are told to get claim form from the church with signature and church letter which we didn't get then. We decided to go straight to the offices in Rivonia then we met one of the consultants that checked everything and verified everything with us and told us what we need from our end, he then went an extra mile to call Naledi to tell them to fill the claim form for us and letter that supports.

On our way home we get a call from one of Naledi pastors to advise we can come tomorrow to fetch the form an letter after they have signed. Tomorrow we get there only 2 people signed the third one we have to wait for Sunday. When Sunday arrive we at the church to collect the forms still not signed, we took our own patrol took a form to the pastor to sign then come back to the church to drop off this other pastor.

So today we again went to Sanlam in Jabulani, claim was processed and advised to wait for 2 sms, to our surprise claim declined after spending so much time and effort and patrol trying to fix the claim. The thing is why if it was going to be declined why did they call us because to us this was long buried and forgotten and now they telling us to do a process with our own money that they going to decline the claim. Kganya Call center cannot give us those failed 3 consecutive months or any of documentation regarding the issue. Now we are advised to yet spend another money to go appeal the outcome which were a not even given information about because all it says it's default but no proof of that to us that support their statement.

If ZCC is using it's loyal servants and member like this, ohhh I fear for those old ladies I always see in green and yellow attending everyday and contributing towards making church pockets even thicker.

What even make me fed up is the fact that they checked and rechecked the policy member and took a phone to call us and said Kganya didn't work for you mother to bury her, there is an unclaimed policy which you need to claim, but now we are taken from pillar to post which in the first they knew they were going to decline yet they put us through a mesiry of how we fought tooth and nail as children to gather money to bury our mother that alone makes me say devil really wants us to relieve same moment twice.
