Waiting forever the chicken
My colleague and I visited the KFC Gardens branch on the 27th of November 2020 (order number 363) wanting to buy meals for our colleagues at the office since it is the closest branch to our offices. When we arrived we were immediately advised to wait in line since the store was still full and we had to practise social distancing. We were expecting a five-minute wait, however, to our dismay and disappointment, we found ourselves still waiting after 25 to 30 minutes. Outraged after seeing UBER drivers given entry, we confronted the lady managing the entrance and she informed us that her manager, Sandi and her assistant Siyabulela, had instructed her to refuse entry to walk-ins and to prioritise online orders. We understand the financial dynamics around the decision to prioritise online orders since there is somewhat a pricing disparity between the two pricing structures, however, the lest the establishment could have done was to inform the general public about this decision to prioritise online orders so that we can make our decisions accordingly. We felt cheated as this was never written anywhere on the premises and online as our time management calculations didn't include waiting for 35 minutes in line outside the store. Furthermore, given that our lunch is exactly an hour, this action by KFC ruined everyone's lunchtime at the office as they had to eat with a heist to mitigate the time wasted at the door. We therefore kindly request KFC publicly announce this action so that we, as the general public, can make more informed decision about how we spend our time and importantly our money.
