Sorry, we don't sell chicken

1st, I am a regular KFC customer, but not a happy one. Tonight me and my wife felt pekish, so I decided to go to KFC Value centre to get some chicken. I know it's end of the month, so I expected the drive through to be packed. When I got there, it wasn't the normal busy as to the usual where you cannot even get in to the drive though. (The drive through is usually super slow) I was supprised as to how fast the cars were actually moving as this is not normally the case. I was impressed for a while... I thought wow, maybe they had some training from the adjourning McDonalds or Nando's drive through's that is always superfast and super professional. When I got to the window, I placed my order of about 6 items, nothing big about a R100 order. The lasy took my entire order. Just before paying, she told me they are out of chicken and the waiting time is 20 minutes. Realy, you run out of chicken? You are a chicken shop. You don't sell ribs or beef burgers or any other product, just chicken and you run out? This is the 3rd time in a short while it happened to me at that KFC. You can't put in the next batch of chicken when you take the batch out? You have a bigger shop than some of the other KFC's I have seen, yet they NEVER run out of chicken? The shop in the mall have constant long lines, but they never run out of products to serve there customers? At value cetre there is either no chicken at all, waiting time on the zinger wings or 3 out of 4 times no chilli salt. I have been in the store 100 times. You can walk up to the counter, and if a staff member is busy with something else, they ignore you. No acknowledgement or even a hi, I will be with you shortly. The staff NEVER so much as smile. They think they are there to do you a big favour, and treat you that way. They make you feel that you should go down on your knees as say thank you for serving me. The other thing I noticed about KFC is their employment equity or the lack there of. The staff do not represent the diversity of the people they serve. I have never seen any coulored, muslin, Indian or white person work at KFC. Why??? We have a very diverse culture in Cape Town, but other races are denied jobs at KFC because of there colour? While in your stores, they talk and SHOUT at each other in their native tounges so we cannot understand them? They could be saying, "spit in that guys gravy cause I don't like him." I wouldn't know. Another thing, if you are only going to employ people of a specific disadvatanged background, atleast train them properly. If you say you have trained them, then your training methods have to seriously be revised. If there was another fried chicken brand availible in close proximity where I live, I would not support KFC. The drive through at value centre is a goold mine because of it's location, not of it's service. Myself having a senior position at a very large international corporate can see that this brach is only surviving because of the very strong KFC Brand. If managed correctly, proffits could easily be increased by 30 to 40%. I think I will be eating Nano's for a while. The last 10 visits to KFC was dreadfull and I doubt that it will get better. Now I will 10 to one get a e-mail or phone call from a customer service agent appologizing for this.... Nothing will change after that anyway....
