Rude staff members at KFC Jubilee Mall
Hi. I visited the KFC at Jubilee Mall today (24th December 2020). It was a really unpleasant experience. The shop had a sign saying they close at 7pm, but was already closed by 6.20pm. We asked why and a lady by the name Mosa calmy came to explain that, besides covid regulations, it was so that customers don't leave dissapointed once 7pm reaches and they have to close shop, so they let people in, little by little and not too many at once.
While she was still explaining to us, a man named Edwin Mashishi, one of the staff members came and pulled her aside and closed the door, saying "we are closed". I and other customers found this to be very disrespectful. Besides the different story he was serving us, his actions and gestures were unacceptable. Customers should never be treated that way.
While myself and 3 other ladies were trying to call the KFC customer care, to no avail, Gloria came and calmy and very gently explained to us exactly what Mosa was trying to communicate, but was not given a chance to. All the customers understood and didn't have a problem cooperating. I commend Gloria for the way she handled the crowd.
We finally got in. Once we were in, one of the staff memebers named Vincent started mocking us and making rude sounds and gestures. He even asked why we don't go elsewhere and buy food or just buy boerewors and braai at home. He was very rude. Even when we reprimanded him. Throughout the time we were there, he kept coming from the back kitchen to the front cash registers to mock us and kept commenting on how we were busy on our phones and can call and write emails to whoever.
I'm really dissapointed in the way we were disrespected, especially after we were willing to comply with the system they were running for the day. We really understand that they too need to knock off and spend time with their loved ones, but finish your shift properly without harming others physically or with your words. That is totally unacceptable.
We love KFC and I believe the brand also values it's customers. Let us not ruin the relationship we have kept for so many years due to people not valuing their jobs or other people.
I hope this is handled accordingly and that the relevant people are disciplined accordingly.
