Order canceled via sms

I made an online order at kfc but my order was cancelled because there were no drivers to deliver my order and was informed via sms.I will get my refund in 14 days.Why don't they call first instead of sending an sms i could have made some arrangement to collect it myself instead of just cancelling and then send an sms.this is so frustrating and inconveniencing.
