how can KFC have no chicken?

This branch closes at 9pm, and when walked in at 8h30 today the cashier said they had no chicken or fillets or wings..we could only order twisters, snack burgers n pops with no apology or explanation. I heard about the doritos burger on the radio n rushed all the way to kfc just for them to have no stock of anything i wanted. Very dissatisfied. Seems like they were getting ready to leave and didnt want to make more burgers or chicken.
