Grotesque and Draconian KFC Must Do Better

I have been a loyal KFC customer for years now. This has been the case, whether I have found myself in East London, Cape Town, Joburg or Pretoria. However, events which have occurred and I have experienced at KFC Hatfield over the last 12 hours have been a huge blight for KFC as a whole.

As I stated above, I have been a loyal customer at KFC for years. This was the case this past week as well. I spent quite a bit of time in Hatfield this week, and true to form, I bought my lunch at the KFC in Hatfield almost the whole week.

However, on Saturday night, I was treated in an appalling manner by the franchise. There is a bold sign on the door which states that the store is open 24 hours a day. I decided to wait for a friend of mine there, and bought some goods as usual once again. To my surprise, I was bombarded by 3 security guards who basically interrogated me. Apparently, I had stayed in the store for a long period of time. I found this quite alarming. There were no questions about my frequency in the store during the week when I bought lunch. There were no queries about my frequency when I bought lunch the day before. However, because I was on my laptop at night at the store, someone thought I was a security threat. I found this experience quite despicable. I spend hours at McDonald's at times. I sometimes do work remotely. KFC on the other hand, has treated my like a ******** when I was just minding my own business. I was told by the security guard that because the store was a business area, there was a concern by someone raised. There was money involved in the store. This is an insult to me, a loyal customer at KFC for years. I did nothing but mind my own business when I was there. The sign at the door states boldly that it is open 24 hours a day. Why on earth would I have to explain myself when I enter the store at night and stay there for hours. I am a PAYING CUSTOMER! What nonsense!

I also found it arrogant for someone from the store to report me to security when I have been quite frequent at the store this week. It was also an arrogant display of capital to be concerned about the time I spent at the store, despite being a paying customer.

KFC Hatfield has violated my right to dignity by senselessly treating me as a ******** in my own country of birth. I take exception to being treated like a pariah just because I was on my laptop at night and spent a few hours there. This has been one of the worst customer service experiences of my life. I have decided to boycott KFC due to their pathetic treatment of a customer.
