Since 01 December 2016, since we moved to Welgelegen, we have frequented the KFC Plattekloof quite a number of times. More than 80% of the time, they did not have chicken at the time. Patience have been growing thin and the joke started circulating that this was the "Hettie" KFC........ in that hulle "hettie" hoender nie!!! Tonight, my wife and I went to this KFC at 21h46 - 14/09/2017, following a late business development meeting. Please bear in mind that at this time of the evening a person is starving and would like food quick, hence we decided to go to a take-away establishment such as KFC, since they even have a drive-through and food should be relatively quick on the order. The cashier took my order and, as instructed, I made payment immediately. Only to be informed by another person, after the sale has gone through successfully, that we have to wait 15 MINUTES for our food!!!! The Consumer Protection Act has been written to facilitate various consumer factors, including providing the consumer full disclosure to a product, PRIOR, to completion of sale.
When I questioned the cashier regarding informing us PRIOR to completion of sale that there will be a 15 minute waiting period, all we received was - I am sorry!!! Really?? That seems to be the most typical response ever currently and the sentiment is that that "sorry" will make everything better!!!!
I was beside myself and walked out of KFC Plattekloof, without my food ordered. I stapled my business card to the till slip and informed the staff of the ********** service that they have been given for nearly a year. R130.00 was given to KFC for no chicken received. If KFC is doing so poorly that they need donations, then all they have to do is inform the public and I am sure we will gladly donate money.
This matter I will not leave as is, as this type of service provision is not only an insult to public, but it is a far cry form what KFC advertises on national tv.
My wife and I left KFC, to settle for toasted sandwiches at home. I think this KFC should be ashamed of themselves and in the event that clients must wait 15 minutes for food, thay should apply for a liquor license and promote themselves as a restaurant and not as a Fast food establishment. When walking into a restaurant, I do not mind waiting 15 minutes, in lieu of the fact that I can enjoy a drink while I wait.
KFC Plattekloof should be ashamed of the service provision and I sincerely hope that the R130.00 they have gained tonight, by TN3979, for no food supp****, may help them with the payment towards future PR studies for their personnel and making their staff understand the concept of full disclosure to members of public!!
I am extremely upset and disappointed and will not leave this matter at this point.
The ownwership of KFC Plattekloof should revise their quality of staff, or spend more money in additional training of their staff.
