Confused customer

Today I went to KFC Ghandi Square. I ordered the Lunch deal Meal. According to the pics I have seen this meal includes...A Crunch Burger, Small Chips and a Small Coke. I was told that they have run out of the meal. I was then advised by the cashier that I can opt for something similar (the jalapeno burger or something like that). So I said fine but just don't put any sauce in the burger and they should add small chips with it. When I get my order I get given the very thing that I was told had run out (A Crunch burger and small chips). The only difference is that I now have to buy each item separately to make up the meal and this ended up costing me more than the meal. So I am a bit confused as to which part of the meal had run out if they can still give me the burger and chips.????
