beware of card skimming KFC

Card Skimmers operate out of Uitenhage KFC on Caledon Road. On 29 September. 2023 at about 4pm I used the kiosk placing an order for R108.80 The card declined and one of the staff grabbed my card and rubbed it on her chest saying sometimes you need to warm it up first. Luckily I was immediately suspicious as there is no reason for staff to ever handle my card so I changed my card limits to R0.

This morning at 3:30 whilst I was very much in bed I got a notification that a transaction failed due to low card limits.

What makes matters worse is that this is not the first time I had issues at that branch. A couple of months ago I was told the card reader was inoperative and the one at the drivethrough would be used so my card was taken out of my sight and when brought back a mobile card machine for drivethrough along with it. I cancelled my card immediately and sent an email to manager of that KFC branch but never got any reply. Who is going to pay my card replacement fee this time?
