BAD SERVICE

To whom it may concern.

It is with great disappointment that I am now forced to escalate my concerns and complaints in this fashion and manner, given the fact that I offered a different alternative. Never have I felt so belittled, disappointed and disrespected by the service rendered to me by a KFC employee. On the 11th October2019 the time was 21:24pm I was on my way to work so I decided I have myself a meal from one of my old time trusted fast food restaurants, Kentucky Fried Chicken(KFC).

With confidence that I will get the best service in the business I went to one store I had just recently started buying from Birchleigh KFC(Cnr Elgin & DeWiekus rds.) When I got to the store decided I will drive through since the store is one of the many stores that affords you the privilege to choose to buy in the store or drive through.

I then ordered 1 box Hot&Crispy meal with a side coke. After I made my payment(refer to attachment) I was asked to proceed to the next window. Unfortunately due to cars before me we had to wait, however the wait had suddenly became unnecessarily long. Mind you I said “ I was on my way to work”…

Eventually some customers in the drive through decided they will drive past the next window and rather opt to wait in the store. When it was my turn to go to the next window I was met by a employee who looked at me and said to me please wait for the chicken it is still cooking. I was astonished I looked at her and in misbelief I asked her to repeat herself…which she did but this time specified the time and said 7more minutes.

I responded and said “No”… You guys should have expressed it to me that I’d have to wait for my meal before I paid for it so that you afford me the right to choose whether I want to wait for the order to be cooked or whether I wanted to go buy elsewhere due to delays I can’t afford to have since I was on my way to work.

She looked at me and said weren’t you told by the one whom which you placed an order with because I know nothing. To which I responded no I was not told and quiet frankly I am rushing to work before I end up running late.

She walked away as I was telling her this and when she returned I said to her, now that you guys choose to deprive me the right to choose whether I wanted to wait for the order or not, I will request you guys you deliver to me this order. She asked where I worked and I told her I work in Midrand for a company called Digistics.

She said she doesn’t think they’ll deliver. I decided that I will go park my car in the designated area then wen to the store and requested for them to deliver my meal. As I walked out got into my car went off to work.

Then I decided to call the store and asked to speak to the store manager then a lady by the name “ Khutsho” answered the phone and I explained the situation regarding the way their service took away my right to choose all of a sudden. She listened to me explain and as I explained I told her what I proposed to be a solution they’d have to deliver my meal since they did their own thing there causing me time and money without the pleasures of my meal.

She then said to me unfortunately Midrand is too far for them..I would have to turn back and come collect the meal. I had explained to her why that would not be possible to turn back since they decided to have at it with my time without my concerns.

She then added if you don’t want your meal come fetch your money. I understand the meal wasn’t so much money but I needed that meal, it makes me wonder if a customer were to decide to buy food and they had a condition had they waited without being informed of waiting prior paying the bill. What would the store find themselves doing with this.

I apologize but that manger Khutsho was disappointingly rude. To not deliver my meal but tell me to turn the car around and come and fetch the money, this is beyond the Monetary issues but rather KFC prides itself with years of being in service to the people and treating them with outmost respect.

Please do something to ensure that this does not happen again to no one. I am still without my meal.
