Apparently chips are free??!

I visited kfc in Marlboro Gardens yesterday. Did my part and paid for the food. The staff unfortunately didn't do theirs. I recieved chips that were below the halfway line and when I went to complain, I was told that chips were in fact free and it was actually the meat I was paying for. I continued further to argue this as the sweetwise 2 with pap was had a lower price than the option with chips. So clearly there was definitely something else I was paying for. Please let me know , is this actually a thing because at every other KFC I've brought this meal at , I received more than what I got here.

But regardless the food is never the point, it's the principle . Why is it that people can't get that. I payed for something meaning I took a leap of faith in believing in the business. Surely because of that one must uphold their part of the deal.

Honestly disgusted by this. It is a right I have as a consumer.
