Abuse of unaccompanied minor at KFC
Complaint regarding an incident at KFC Randpark, located near Trinityhouse. My son purchased a breakfast meal and, satisfied with it, ordered a second of the same meal moments later. He was charged for the second meal at the till. Approximately a minute after payment, he was told that breakfast was “done” and that the staff member responsible for preparing eggs had already left. Despite the restaurant being unable to fulfill the order it had just accepted and charged for, the shop assistant refused to process a refund. This is unacceptable for several reasons: The store accepted payment for an item it knew or should have known it could not prepare. Refusing a refund when the product cannot be supp**** is contrary to basic consumer rights and good faith. This outlet is heavily supported by Trinityhouse students, many of whom are minors. It is especially concerning that young customers may be disadvantaged or dismissed rather than treated fairly and transparently. I request the following: An immediate refund for the second breakfast meal that could not be provided. A written explanation of why payment was accepted after breakfast service had ended and why a refund was refused. Confirmation of corrective steps: staff training on cut-off times and refund procedures, clear signage or till lockouts for ended menus, and supervisory escalation when a product cannot be supp****. A goodwill gesture to acknowledge the inconvenience and to reassure the school community that this will not recur. Please investigate this matter and respond within 7 working days with the outcome and the steps you will take to prevent a repeat. I am happy to provide the date and approximate time of the incident, the amount charged, and any receipt or bank proof of payment if needed.
