Raw chicken served at KFC Kingscrest Amanzimtoti and complaint dismissed

I had an absolutely shocking experience at the new KFC Kingscrest Centre in Amanzimtoti.

On 14 November 2025 I spent over 40 minutes stuck in the drive-through queue, even though the restaurant was not busy. My order was only taken at the payment window, which makes the printed time on the receipt misleading and hides how long I actually waited.

When I finally received my All Star Lunch Box, the food was cold and one piece of chicken was undercooked/raw inside, the batter was separating and the meat was still pink. This is not just poor quality, it is a serious health risk.

I logged a formal complaint with KFC Customer Care, attached photos and my receipt, and provided full details. Their “resolution” was simply to apologise and close the case. There was no refund, no replacement and no goodwill gesture, despite the fact that they served raw chicken.

For a brand as large as KFC, this is completely unacceptable: poor service, unsafe food and no meaningful accountability when a customer raises a legitimate food safety concern. I will not be supporting this branch again and would strongly caution others about buying from KFC Kingscrest Centre.
