Why do we have medical aids if they going to decline paying

I was admitted at kingsway hospital on the 14 and discharged on the 15th of NOVEMBER 2019

I am unhappy about how this process was handled. I went to the hospital because i was sick not for any other reason. Secondly i didnt diagnose or admit myself or influence the doctors to admit me. I had no reason to refuse admission when i was told further assessments is needed. I didnt know the extant of my sickness.

Now im sitting with a debt that i didnt create as i have received a communication from the hospital indicating that im now liable for the payment of my hospital stay. How is that possible when you have a medical aid. why do we even pay medical aids if the same medical aid is going to put you in debt.

I sent an email on the 17th if January to appeal as directed but didn't get any response or any acknowledgement. I have been calling almost every day but the lines are always.
