Penalty
I app**** for medical aid with them. I was on medical aid for over 30 years when they phone me this morning to say I need to pay a penalty for late join medical aid. Is this a new scheme to make money out of our customers or what.

I'm so disgusted in her actions that is unacceptable the way she treated me over the phone. What a shame....

We refer to a call to you from our Sales team and confirm you have been provided with detailed feedback on the applying of an LJP. We can assure you that we operate in accordance with the Medical Schemes Act 131 of 1998 and are regulated by the Council for Medical Schemes
The Late joiner penalty may be imposed on an applicant (Principal Member and / or Adult Dependant) aged 35 and over, who was not a member or dependant of one or more recognised medical scheme from a date before 1 April 2001 and without a break in coverage exceeding 90 days since 1 April 2001. The penalty is for the duration of membership.
KeyHealth will no longer be engaging on the issue on Hellopeter.
