No benefits as per prospectus

I switched from Discovery Medical Aid to Key Health last year. In December I was assaulted (was also included in the report given by the peremedics) and broke me knee. I was taken with an ambulance to Pretoria East Hospitals ER. They took an X-Ray and no brake was visible but I was told to come back 4 days later. 4 days later the Dr saw my condition didn't improve so they send me for a MRI. The MRI showed a brake in my Femur and my Tibia and a small fracture somewhere in my knee. Although Key Health said when I app**** that I do have MRI cover with a co-payment they now decided that this was a previous injury. If it was a previous I jury don't you think I would have had it treated with Discovery?? I lodged a complaint and got NO Feedback. I lodged another complaint and got NO FEEDBACK again. Today I got a letter from the radiologist that they will be handing me over. My knee is still in no way back to normal but I can't go for a follow-up because the Dr wants a CT scan and I already have an outstanding MRI bill....Maybe NHI is not such a bad idea

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with Keyhealth's recent actions regarding my medical aid coverage. On June 10, 2023, I was informed that my medical aid has been abruptly cancelled with immediate effect, effective from May 31, 2023. Despite this sudden cancellation, Keyhealth proceeded to debit my account for the month of June.

As a sales representative, my job requires extensive travel and I cannot afford to be without medical coverage. It has now been over a week since the cancellation, and I have yet to receive a refund from Keyhealth. This delay is unacceptable and has left me vulnerable and exposed without any medical aid coverage during this period.

I demand immediate action from Keyhealth to rectify this situation:

1. Provide a prompt refund for the debit as my medical aid coverage was terminated retroactively to May 31, 2023. Very easy to calculate what the surplus amount should be.
2. Clarify the reasons for the sudden cancellation of my medical aid without prior notice.

I expect a resolution to this matter within the next 48 hours. Should this issue persist, I will have no choice but to escalate my complaint to relevant regulatory bodies and consider legal action for the negligence and inconvenience caused.

I look forward to your immediate attention and a swift resolution.

Sincerely,
Emile
