Keyhealth problems.
I reside in Modimolle, Limpopo and had a consultation with physican dr. Hartley at Rose Acres Hospital, Germiston on Saturday 12 April 2025. He required that a MR scan be done on my lower body and issued me the necessary script. I visited the radiologists at the hospital and tried to get the necessary permission from Keyhealth medical scheme. Apparently they are only available from Mondays to Fridays for such permissions. The telephone only rang but was unanswered. I then had to decide to stay over on my own cost at a local accommodation establishment or travel back to Modimolle and come back on Monday at a cost of some R3000 for fuel and toll fees on the N1 or have the scan done, pay my co-payment and obtain the permission from Keyhealth on Monday. I chose the latter and obtained the permission from Keyhealth on Monday 14 April 2025. Now the fund refuses to pay the radiologist account as permission was not obtained beforehand yet they are unavailable on Saturdays. How is this possible? I am a pensioner 82 years old and a member since Jan. 1966 of Munimed which later changed their name to Keyhealth. Should I have to pay the full amount due to radiologists a large hole will be made in my meagre pension. I have submitted a letter to Keyhealth about the matter but had no reply or acknowledgement.
