KeyHealth denies care, breaks promises and calls you a ****

<p>We moved to Key Health from another medical aid at the beginning of 2016. We were approved as members on the 12th of February. Shortly thereafter we suspected that my wife was pregnant. A trip to the doctor on the 18th confirmed it - 4 weeks - not planned, but there you go. We notified Key Health and they denied my wife access to the maternity program. They gave "non-disclosure" as the reason. We did not know that my wife was pregnant when we app****. We did not know she was pregnant when our membership was confirmed. We only found this out afterwards. We've tried to resolve this without involving third parties, but Key Health has been less than helpful.</p> <p> </p> <p>They did say, telephonically, that they would cover a normal delivery or emergency c-section. This gave us some comfort while we disputed their claims. We've since received a letter stating that they would not even pay for that. This was frustrating, perplexing and worrying - if we'd not made the necessary arrangements early, or if my wife had a pre-term labour, we would have been denied care by Key Health.</p> <p> </p> <p>Just to make things clear, we took a long time to move to Key Health because we had a miscarriage last year and decided to hold back on moving to avoid this sort of problem. Well, here we are. In short, we did not know when we app****, but Keyhealth says we're lying. We tried to revolve this amicably, but Key Health has been less than helpful. We'd like to move to another medical aid, but it is too late.</p> <p> </p> <p>If you don't have a good lawyer, or are one, avoid Key Health.</p>
