Issues waiting periods for people who have had the flu or covid.
Did you know that if you have had a cold or flu within the last twelve months you will not be covered by them for any conditions related to the flu. Eg: Pneumonia etc. They issue waiting periods on the common cold or flu, that is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard, quite frankly it's disgusting.

Tania, we can assure you that we operate in accordance with the Medical Schemes Act 131 of 1998 and are regulated by the Council for Medical Schemes. Waiting periods are app**** as per legislation. (All Schemes are regulated by the Council of Medical Schemes)
Each member’s application scenario(s) is unique. In order for the Scheme to grant a fair decision we will require a fully completed application form.
Terms will be set in order for the member to make an informed decision and accept or decline terms. Underwriting Terms cannot be confirmed based on telephonic discussions only. We have dedicated departments that are able to assist with any queries, once the application has been received and reference can be made to documents received.
