Cover during waining period in case op heart attack

We had a situation this afternoon where my dad had a light heart attack. The ambulance came and advised us to take him to the hospital they are however on a waiting period until 1 April. I’m 99% sure when we joined keyhealth we were told that emergencies would be covered during the waiting period. Fortunately it was not needed to go to hospital but we phoned keyhealth just to make sure that incase we need to rush to hospital during the night that we won’t have issues. Now the guy that answered the phone clearly did not have the paper with the answer to my question in front of him as he clearly did not have a clue what to say to me. Please can someone competent just give me an answer, are my parents covered for an emergency during their waiting period for example a heart attack.
