Don’t use them

<div>Well this is my recent experience with Keringa-Petwings. I moved five pets with them to the Netherlands. They gave me what I thought was a reasonable quote, as it also included pickup from my home and clearance and delivery at the destination. Roughly R77 000 for 3 cats and my medium sized dog and then, what I knew would be expensive, was my one cat had gotten a gum infection when all the others had gotten their rabies injections, so she would have to be kennelled with them for a month or so, which they quoted me at R33 000-ish. I had heard good things about them. The Keringa agent wasn’t SUPER communicative but all had gone fairly according to plan until I landed in the Netherlands. My first four pets were supposed to arrive two days after me. Then I got an email saying they had tried to get a hold of me and Tammy pets’ flight had been cancelled due to an error with the Netherlands state vet. Apparently, all their birthdates did not correspond on all the documents. “How was this not picked up earlier?” I asked, as they had had me reprint rabies certificates in order to fix dates of first vaccinations. They didn’t know. It was apparently a new thing with the state vet. I didn’t really buy it then, and with what I know now, I buy it even less. The result of their “mistake” was that my pets would only fly two weeks after me and I had to dig up R10 000 extra, right then. Could we make a payment arrangement, just possibly wait until the end of the month, I asked. Their empathetic answer was NO. I had to fork up the money or my pets wouldn’t fly. So I borrowed the money. The flight date finally arrived and I tracked my pets to Charles de Gaulle as the were flying with Air France. My heart sank as I saw two pieces out of four had left CDG. Where were the other two pets?? I emailed Keringa and they couldn’t give me any info. The people on the NL side were great and eventually told me the other pets would be coming on the next flight. My last cat luckily flew KLM without a hitch two weeks later but she’s deaf and I’m sure this fact never got through to the kennel managers even though I had explicitly written this everywhere on all the forms I had to fill out for Keringa. She’s taking the adjustment a lot harder than the others, also because I believe they kept her seperate. The last thing that ****ed me off was that I still had to pay transport costs to get my animals to my house even after paying Keringa R130 000 in the end and not just R100 000. I will NOT be recommending you to anyone, especially after at least three other similar stories I’ve heard since my experience.</div>
