Shocking experience - disorganized, unprofessional, and expensive
If I could give Kenya Airways zero stars I would. We sat in the plane for an hour and a half before they made an announcement that there was a mechanical issue and kicked us off the plane. Two hours later they announced that our flight was canceled at the gate. We were told that our flight tomorrow would be in the morning. At baggage claim, my bags took two hours to arrive and then at the ticket offices, I sat for another 2 hours to be assisted. There was only THREE people in front of me in the queue. Then all the passengers sat on the ground for an hour waiting for our bus to arrive for the hotel. No announcements were made, and we were only ushered outside once a mob of angry passengers started to scream at Kenya airlines staff. The bus arrived but had a 10 person capacity (even though we were around 100 people). When we eventually got to the hotel, I had to wait in a queue for 45 minutes whereafter my hotel room had no towels and I was unable to shower (+ the entire hotel that kenya airlines organized for us did not have a spare towel). The airline took so long to get us to the hotel that we were not provided free dinner and we were not offered any vouchers to purchase dinner. We all had to buy our meals out of our own pockets. Our flight was promised at 1410 the next day, but when I arrived at the airport I was told that the parts for the broken plane will only arrive in the afternoon and that the flight is now being pushed to 1800. My travel agent said that she has had such bad experiences with this airline, that this was the last straw and she will never book her clients with them ever again.
