Kenny's Transport, Cape Town Worst Experience
Honestly the worst experience by far. We requested a quote from Kenny in March already for a furniture move from Brackenfell to the West Coast. After communicating via whatsapp on various occassions, he provided us with a quote and came in the most expensive of two other quotes received. Due to the fact that I had gotten his details via a referral and that he added in his quote to bubble wrap all appliances and wrap all furniture in blankets, we decided that he would be the best company to move us which was a two hour travel time. Kenny also quoted us on a 8 ton truck as the inventory list I sent him, he decided that an 8 tonner would be big enough for all our valuables. Two days beforw the move, Kenny decided to come and view all the furniture as we were hesitant that our furniture might not fit. Once he viewed all the furniture, he advised that a 8 ton truck would be big enough and that we were set for the big move in two days time. The morning of the move, I asked Kenny if I could pay half the quoted amount on arrival of his team and the rest once the truck arrived in the West Coast, at our new home and he said no, the FULL amount is to be paid upfront as he needed to pay over money to his guys for diesel, which we then did immediately not to hold up the move. When the truck and team arrived, we noticed something strange. The truck did not look like a 8 tonner as discussed, but more like a 4 tonner. We decided to not ask questions. When his team started placing items in the truck we immediately noticed that no bubble wrap had been used on appliances, nor did any furniture end up being wrapped in blankets. We then also noticed that the truck was not big enough for all our furniture and when my husband called Kenny, we were told that he would send a trailer for the rest of the items and that we had to "supervise" his team and should have let him know earlier that bubble wrap had not been used. In all honesty, there was NO BUBBLE WRAP IN THE TRUCK IN THE FIRST PLACE, and when my husband told him, why we had to supervise his team, he said that he would come through as soon as possible. After hours having our furnitire standing in the middel of the street and furniture and appliances being forced into the truck ontop and next to each other, in an attempt of his team, trying to fit everything, my husband called Kenny again who advised that he was sorting out the trailer and would come through. After about 2 to 3 hours of waiting, we had to end up leaving most of our furniture out in the street and had to lock up and leave the house as we had to get to the West Coast to collect keys. Just before 6 o clock that evening Kenny's team arrives in the West Coast and off loaded dropping our boxes, furniture etc just anywhere possible and left. Once I started unpacking I noticed that most boxes were damages, liquid which was inside boxes and the boxes ended up being packed upside down in the truck, had ran out and onto a lamp shade that was also packed in the truck. Then my worst nightmare came true as I started noticing damages to various items. Suede couches scrathed and had dirty marks, dresser tables dented and scratched, washing machine dented, tuble dryer scratched and dented. Bedding which was inside and open box, that I could not close was taken out and thrown on the floor. Two TV's both scratched. And I think the worst was our pool table, which the oak wood had been redo just only three days prior to our move, was dented and scratched on several places. These are only to mention a few items which were damages, as during that evening we looked for all the damages to take photos of it. Immediately the next morning I sent Kenny a message informing him of all the damages and sending photos to him, where he rep**** "Sorry about that but l will speak to you then we can talk and have solution".
12 days later, after I had followed up with him again after NO RESPONSE he said he would reimburse me an amount to try and make up for the damages. I only asked for R2000 back (which is basically nothing in comparison to the damages we suffered and this would cover the bubble wrap and blankets he quoted on in the first place) but just wanted this put behind me. 3 days later, after NO RESPONSE AGAIN, he asked if I could give him a few days to get the money and he will pay me back, to which I rep**** that is fine but how long would he need? That was on the 16th of May. To date I have never heard from Kenny again and I have followed up numerous times with him. I had given him enough time to reimburse me.
Long story short, DO NOT USE KENNY'S TRANSPORT, even if someone close had referred him.
He is very quick to reply and take your money but after damaging more then half my house hold content, he is gone with the wind. Worst transport company ever!
