I hired a car from Port Elizabeth Airport for 2 days of the 28 and 29 November 2023. Very fancy website that fills you with confidence that you are dealing with a company that has some credibility. I prepaid for the 2 days car hire by EFT and when I arrived at the airport, they suddenly wanted a R15 000.00 deposit, and outrageously high amount by industry standards. When asked about when the deposit refund, the driver seemed a bit uncertain so while sitting in the car, I checked on the company's reviews on internet and found much the same as the overall rating as on HelloPeter. I cancelled the car hire contract immediately and asked for a refund, which in spite of 2 follow up emails, have been flatly ignored, without even the courtesy of a reply to my request. I am happy to share the emails with anyone want to verify the events. Kenings Car hire is a total ****, and if you want to lose your money without any recourse, book something through this crowd. You have been warned.
