Worst car deal experience ever with Kelston Motor Group (Master Cars) in Uitenhage

Our company purchased a vehicle though the Kelston Motor Group (Master Cars) in Uitenhage. The vehicle was collected from the Dealership on 22 April 2016 and we experienced problems from the get-go.

1. The vehicle was collected from the Dealership on the Friday, 22nd of April 2016. We experienced noises coming from underneath the vehicle and reported this first thing Monday morning the 25th of April 2016 and a booking was arranged for the 26th of April 2016. The vehicle was taken in as scheduled and according to their report it was the Lower control arm bushes that was dry (note: the vehicle had done less than 13000km). The vehicle was then collected later that afternoon and the problem still persisted at that time.

2. The vehicle was then reported on the 28th, Thursday morning as Wednesday was a public holiday. Because of the dealership being fully booked on the 28th and the 29th of April 2016 the vehicle was then booked for Tuesday morning the 3rd of May 2016 as Monday was once again another Public holiday.

3. The vehicle went in as scheduled. Upon arrival to collect the vehicle (close of business hours), we were told by the dealership that the vehicle had to remain at their workshop as the fault was not resolved. We had been informed on Wednesday afternoon the 4th of May 2016 that the vehicle had to be taken to the body shop and they will inform us as soon as they have answers regarding the vehicle issues.

4. Later Wednesday afternoon we were informed that the vehicle had to be taken apart due to Welding that had to be done to the vehicle. We were also informed it will take no less than 2 days to have the issue resolved which ended not being the problem. After the car was received back it is clear that the car was taken apart as the body parts are no longer aligned. The vehicle was taken by our company to the AA and a Body Shop who also agreed that the body parts are not aligned and that a noise was emitting from the vehicle. However, 2 experts arranged by the Kelston Motor Group indicated they were satisfied with the vehicle.

5. The vehicle persisted in giving problems and Kelston Motor Group arranged for 2 experts to test the vehicle again in my presence on 20 May 2016 and they then agreed that there is a problem with the vehicle.

6. I consulted with Wesbank through whom the vehicle was purchased and the Kelson Motor Group contacted me on 23 May 2016 indicating that they are prepared to replace the vehicle. I visited the dealership and identified a vehicle for replacement although in a higher price range - the dealership would need to reduce the price to accommodate the replacement.

7. The next day, the Kelston Motor Group had a total turnaround and the replacement was no longer on the cards instead they once again want to send the vehicle for repairs.

8. We had enough of the total incompetence and non-reliability of a vehicle that was hardly in our possession. We returned the vehicle and left the keys with the Sales Manager. Walking out of the dealership, the Sales Manager threatened that the vehicle would be removed from their dealership.

9. The next two days, we received emails from the Kelson Motor Group indicating that the vehicle will be taken to VWSA and their "top dogs" would now inspect the vehicle to determine exactly what is wrong. It was also stated that this would take a couple of days. This is not only absurd but ridiculous - how do they expect a company to have so many problems with a vehicle recently purchased and then to be without one while they try to determine the faults.

This has been the worst car deal experience ever. I would definitely not recommend the Kelston Motor Group to anyone. I would rather say pass them by swiftly and don't look back.
