A flat is available to rent in my complex and i needed to move but i really like my complex so i approach Busi Codeira to secure the 2 bed flat, the apartment appears to be in good condition and she assures me that the flat is 100%. On the 13th of September 2023 I paid the required deposit and rental to secure the flat.

Busi Codeira arrives for an entry inspection and contract signing on the 27th Oct 2023 but something is amiss, the electricity and water have been turned off, she proceeds cross off the checklist, im not comfortable at this point but i really need a place. She leaves the flat unlocked, a significant red flag as she is supposed to hand over a set of keys .

I later go in to double check as i was uneasy about the entire walk through, i switch on the main-switch and water supply and lo behold, electrical plugs and stove are not working, the main door's handle is broken, the balcony door is also broken, only the burglar door has a key but not secure, as i switch on the bathroom taps the entire place becomes flooded at this point im shook. I immediately contact her to provide me with the copy of the checklist and the contract and tell her about the shocking discovery.

We go back and forth as she becomes increasingly aggressive and combative, i then request the copies of both lease agreement and checklist - she cannot provide me with the checklist and lease agreement copies as the landlord has not signed, i immediately request a cancellation which she agrees to in writing via email.

Busi Codeiro has refused to refund my deposit and rental the sum of R 13 600, Be careful when dealing with this ********* and dubious individual. I have reported her to the Keller Williams Management ,and they have not responded, not sure if that is how they operate. I have taken the matter to the rental tribunal and will not rest until my hard earned money is returned to me.
