Bad service from Estate agent - Beware

We had the displeasure of dealing with Karien on both the sale of our old house and the purchase of the new one. Chasing commission is all that she has in mind - no regard for the damage she causes.

She failed to inform us of the inclusion of the occupational rent after the signing of the purchase contract. When issues thus arose with the registration we were held liable to pay occupation rent that we never agreed or signed for. Stating that the seller had included it after the fact and did not inform her, we were still encouraged to move as the purchasers of our old house had nowhere to go.

The rental agent managing our new property up until the sale then presented us with an e- mail where Karien had suggested the amount as well as agreed to the fact that the seller fill it in.

Defects on the house popped up during this time - such as roof leaks, pipe problems - all declared as not faulty on the contract. We were assured by Karien that all leaks were fixed, EVERYTHING was in order - it was not. Due to this we now have to take legal action against the previous owner - further expenses because of a greedy agent that only cares about her commission.

Karien has no regard for her customers and avoids any communication where she is to be at fault. I would not suggest using her as you will lose a lot of money.
