EXCEPTIONALLY BAD SERVICE FROM KEAGEOZ

Even one star is way too much to describe the exceptionally bad service and unorganized skills that we have experienced with the purchase of our new property through Keageoz Property Solutions. There are so many problems related to this transaction, where should I even start? The agent that assisted us with the transaction was Carlo. He was also well befriended with- and has known the seller for many years, which we thought will contribute to a smoother transaction, but which actually ended up complicating things.

First problem, We wanted to use our own attorneys, which we have discussed with the sellers and which the sellers agreed to. Later, Carlo (the agent) contacted us to say that the sellers changed their minds and rather wanted to choose their own attorney's, Riaan Klopper attorneys. We were disappointed as this is not what we discussed and agreed to, but we felt it was their prerogative as the sellers, so we just let it be. But when we started the process we had so much trouble with communication with the said attorneys and we were very disappointed that we didn't persist to use our own attorneys as initially agreed. We then arranged a meeting with the sellers during which the sellers pointed out to us that they are very disappointed in Riaan Kloppers Attorneys and asked us why WE have chosen them. We were shocked to hear that they thought it was our Attorneys, while we were told by the agent that it was the sellers attorneys. At this point it became clear to both us and the seller that the agent had put us both under the false impression that the attorneys were chosen by the other party. The agent then admitted that his principal (the owner of Keageoz and GreenDoorSolutions - Johann Cronje) were working together with Riaan Klopper attorneys through his bond company GreenDoorSolutions and that they (his principal at Keageoz) had chosen them (Riaan Klopper Attorneys). We were obviously furious to hear this and can't believe that the agent was so dishonest about it and that Keagoez tried to get away with this. Unfortunately at this stage it was too late to move over to other attorneys, as this would have slowed down the transaction even more. So to speed up the process to get our new home registered, we had no choice but to remain with Riaan Klopper attorneys, to our regret.

Second problem, We have signed the OTP in Aug, the instruction was only given to said attorneys to handle the transfer in middle September, and thereafter it took almost 5 months just to get the matter lodged at the deeds office, as communication was exceptionally poor.

Third problem When we worked through the "defect list" (Annexure F) within the OTP, we were assured that the house was in tip top condition and that there were no faults/damages to the property. But this was also not true. Three of the Trellidors were not working, one of which we can't even remove because we don't have a key to even open it. The other ones were so badly damaged that they also had to be removed, because they don't retract. The swimming pool was supposedly done a year ago, but we have to top it up weekly as it keeps losing water somewhere and then the water level drops below the minimum level for the pool cleaner to work correctly. We also found termite nests in the cupboards that were killed but not even removed. Not to mention the broken basins and cracked toilet. TIP for buyers: Make sure to take out your own people (experts) to double check all possible faults when purchasing a home with Keageoz. Later we wanted to double check the defects list to compare it to the damages which we have found, but when we asked for this list after registration, neither Keageoz nor Riaan Klopper Attorneys could even find this Annexure for several weeks before they finally found it and send it to us eventually.

Fourth problem, The electrician that Keageoz and the seller used to do the COC was Tina Kwenda, if you see this with your transaction, please be sure to DOUBLE CHECK all electrical connections with your own/external electrician. We had to spend over R8000 just to remove all the ******* connections and get everything according to COC specifications. We purchased the house with a full camera system and outside lights, but all of this had to be removed as it was *******ly connected with speaker wire and cell phone chargers. Yes you read that correctly. We have emailed the agent repeatedly in this regard, but to date got no response. The attorneys eventually responded and escalated this matter to the sellers.

Fifth Problem Even after registration, no one seems to know where the GAS COC is for this transaction. Not the attorneys nor the agents at Keageoz and only now on our request, they have requested it from the sellers. This was supposed to be in place before the transaction commenced.

All in all, this has been such a bad experience, I will never recommend Keageoz Properties to anybody.
