Why descriminating against students?

<p>On Friday the 27th my friends and I went for coffee & cake @ Katjiepiering in the Botanical Gardens. The front of the restaurant (which is outdoors) was closed and they only served at the back, due to weather. They asked us if we've booked and our answer was no. There were no open tables available so we decided to take take-away cake. The manager was standing next to us and said he can only offer us cooldrink & coffee in a take-away but they don't actually do take-away cake; but they will do it for us. My friend asked the waiter what cake is the best and with an very unapproachable attitude she said "don't know, maybe Bar-One". While we waited for the cake we sat in die front area which is closed due to weather, the chairs were dry, the tables clean and the sun was shining- don't know why we can't sit there? </p> <p>While we waiting for the cake many people exited the restaurant which means there are now tables available. Our cake arrived in a polistarine plate w****d around with tinfoil with no forks or serviettes. The icing of my cake was all over the tinfoil. We asked the waiter if we can stay seated in the front area and wheter we can get forks to eat our cake- her answer was " no sorry, it is not right to sit in the front when we only serve at the back. And also we don't have plastic forks". We then asked to maybe borrow their real forks as we will not exit the gardens, we will sit on the grass, the waiter said "sorry that is wrong we can't do that". Too confused to reply we just stood up and walked away, the chef just gave us a glare and walked past. </p> <p>After eating the cake with our hands, washed our hands in the fountains and paid R45 for the smallest piece of cake we decide to be positive and take this as a memorable experience but when we walked past the front area of the restaurant to exit the gardens 2 tables were full of people - adults by the way- drinking tea with real mugs AND using s****s AND they sat in the front area. </p> <p>I am just very dissapointed the way they treated us students- it will do them no harm if we sat in the front area and atleast gave us s****s or even just servietes. I ask you Katjiepiering, please treat all people the same, whether they are children, students or adults. </p>
