Very Disappointing Stay at Kathu Inn
Very Disappointing Stay at Kathu Inn I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Kathu Inn. When I arrived, the shower taps in my room were not working properly. I would expect a hotel to have regular maintenance and room inspections to make sure that basic facilities are working before a guest is checked into a room. The food was another disappointment. The menu states that they serve chicken wings, yet what I received were small winglets. The portions are also extremely small and, in my opinion, not enough for a proper meal. For the amount guests are expected to pay, I expected much better portion sizes and overall quality. The service at the restaurant/bar was also disappointing. When ordering cider, the waitress simply brings the bottles without providing a glass, pouring the drink or even opening the bottles. If you order three bottles, all three are brought to the table at once. I found this very strange. Why should a guest have to sit with all three drinks at once instead of being served properly as they are needed? For an establishment presenting itself as a hotel, I expected a much better standard of hospitality and attention to guests. What makes the experience even more disappointing is that this establishment has a star rating, which naturally creates an expectation of a certain standard of accommodation, maintenance, food and service. Unfortunately, my experience did not match those expectations at all. Basic things such as working bathroom facilities, accurate menu descriptions, reasonable food portions and attentive service should not be too much to expect from a hotel. Kathu Inn seriously needs to improve its room inspections, maintenance, food service and overall hospitality.
