Silence instance on unnecessary test and lying about it being require by medical aid

I have been a patient at Doctor Kathan in Grassy Park for about 3 years and have not had any issues until now.

I recently went for a consultation where I told the doctor that it an ongoing medical issue and I needed to go see a specialist.....I had already been at Dr Kathan a couple of months before for the same problem. Firstly the doctor insisted on a pathology test to see if it was just an infection...we obviously knew it wasn't as it was an ongoing problem related to my stroke from 4 years ago.....then secondly she told me that this test was required by Discovery before I would be allowed to see the specialist.....which was complete *******. So Discovery now will not pay for the test and have confirmed that it was not required by them.

So I am sitting with a bill I cannot afford to pay for a test I did not need and which I was **** to about it be required by Discovery.

I emailed Dr Kathan's surgery in Grassy Park and have had no response in over 2 weeks.

I will tell you this.....I'm not paying that bill !!!!!
