KAROO 1 HOTEL VILLAGE IS A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT
Karoo1 Hotel Village Touws Rivier. I would like to share the unprofessional and disappointing experience I have suffered recently due to Karoo 1 Hotel Village. Recently, I tested positive for COVID-19. Despite the global situation gradually returning to normal, COVID remains a serious health concern, as I have experienced firsthand leaving me quite unwell and compromised. Additionally, my international guest who was to travel all the way from New York to accompany me had to cancel her trip, given the uncer*****y surrounding my recovery.
Understanding the risks and in the spirit of responsibility, I made the difficult decision to cancel my reservation to prevent any potential spread of the virus to other guests and staff at Karoo 1 Hotel Village. When I contacted Karoo1 Hotel to discuss a possible refund for my November 12 through 14th, 2024 reservation to the value of R2190.00, I was informed that a refund could not be accommodated. They have a 30-day cancellation policy and by the time I emailed Mr. Woestyn it was 21 days from the actual reservation date. Not to mention of course that I had contacted their reservation department a week prior.
So on October 23, 2024 I emailed the hotel owner Mr. Willy Woestyn to share with him that I had contacted his reservations department the week prior to explain my situation and outlined their response. In fact, the lady in his reservations department told me that they could not give me Mr. Woestyn's contact details and I would have to email the hotel and he would decide whether to reply. It is October 28th, 2024 and I have not had a reply from Mr. Woestyn or anyone else at Karoo 1 Hotel Village.
I respect the policies in place at thisMr. Woestyn's hotel, yet I humbly appealed to his sense of decency and understanding. These are extenuating circumstances that were impossible to foresee. Given the severity of my illness and my effort to prioritize the safety of others, I believe that providing a refund would be a gesture of compassion and fairness on the part of Karoo 1 Hotel Village. At the very least a reply from Mr. Woestyn would be the professional and ethical thing to do.
