poor service and hygein

To whom it may concern: Good day My wife gave birth to our second child at Karl Bremer hospital.As the father, I was present during the entire process. I left home just after .The doctors ,sisters and midwives were fairly nice to my wife ,but my actual complaint is hygiene. Before I left for home I spoke to one of the sisters who was attending to my wife and asked if my wife was going to be cleaned and sorted and if linen was going to be changed and also when they would move her to a ward so that I could bring my mother in law for visiting hours.They said it’s fine. I left for home. I eventually returned at visiting hours. I started looking for my wife. I ran up and down the corridors, panicking. I went back the, where she gave birth and found her laying as I left her in blood and her own **** (faeces) and some bad smells which I understand hence the whole giving birth process, with our new born child on her chest. She was closed with a clean white blanket and under the blanket it looked like a horror movie. I was ****ed and traumatised. By that time the staff that attended to my wife had already left. The new staff made excuses for their colleagues and told me “wards are full and the day was hectic because it was Friday and they would just have to say sorry” and my mother in law said “to tell me it’s Friday, it’s no excuse, someone has to be accountable” , and it was a lie. I then caused a scene and my wife was moved 10 min later by a student, to a WARD that had empty bed, as where room 5 and 6 had empty beds available. They were just very negligent and lazy as it was almost clock out time for day staff. I have one of the sisters names who attended to my wife during delivery and stitched her and was supposed to change the bed sheets as i was told by the manager, but let my wife sit in her own bodily fluid for almost 3hours and 30 min. She was kept at hospital , where she signed a red card to discharge herself, because she could not take it anymore. She was kept for high pulse rate which can be very dangerous. During that time she was treated very poorly by night staff. As a concerned husband I did some research on what causes high pulse rate, three main causes are rapid loss of blood , blood clots and infection. I spoke to many head nurses/sisters including a doctor and I was told "well I just have to apologise on behalf of my colleagues. When I got to hospital I took pictures of the conditions. As soon I told the nurses/sisters I’ve got pictures, their attitude changed towards me. They scheduled an x-ray for my wife for Sunday to check her lungs. I said I am going to report it and also attach pictures and add names, they then scheduled an x-ray for Saturday evening .The end result was that my wife had an infection due to them being negligent on hygiene. She was given antibiotics and fortunately her pulse rate is normal now. People has passed away from high pulse rate. I still have the pictures and would like the situation to be addressed ASAP. Another father might not be as concerned, a life might be in danger due to their negligence. Kind regards
