MATERNITY

I have more of an enquiry.... I am about to give birth to my first baby at 27 years old. I want to know why is it that I have been told that I cannot give birth at Karl Bremer? My sister almost lost her life giving birth at the local MOU and if it weren't for us transporting her OURSELVES to Tygerberg hospital. She and her son would not have made it. I DO NOT feel comfortable going to this MOU because of this. She was in labour from the 18- 23rd of Dec and they did NOTHING. I DO NOT feel safe going there. So as a tax paying South African, I'd like to ask why I cannot give birth where I feel my daughter is in safer hands?
