Karel De Witt Meubels advertise Pine Furniture made to order. We renovated the kids room and ordered a Pine double bunk bed Single bases at R1380 including Delivery on 20.07.2021. Delivery was set for 02.08.2021. Although we wanted it earlier, we accepted as quality control is what they pride themselves on. So Friday 30.07.21 my wife followed up to check if the bed will maybe be done by the weekend, because our excitement got the better of us as really wanted the kids room sorted. Carmil called back and confirmed delivery for Sunday, 01.08.21 (today) we accepted and waited. Today Carmil called to confirm that they have just loaded and on their way to deliver. We were happy and awaited their delivery. Upon arrival into the complex, i went out to look for them and they already passed our address and I waved for them to come back. So they reversed and Carmil asked where they should park I showed them to park temporarily on the bend as there are no visitors parking bays open and they would not be long. I will just inform security that they are delivering and it should not be a problem. I assume the driver was Karel De Witt himself and his wife Carmil who started offloading the pieces to be put together. To my suprise the driver started complaining that he cant work like this and that this was not arranged properly. I then asked what is the issue because I am just going draw the money while they offload, and will be back to help them carry up the pieces to our 1st floor apartment. He said this is not going to work for him and he will rather arrange delivery for tomorrow. Suprised at his decision, I questioned them whats going on? Asked them what is the problem because while they offload, It will give me sufficient time to go and draw the cash as they dont accept card payments nor Eft. I then looked at my wife with disappointment and asked her what are we going to do now? We carefully planned this suprise for the kids but now cannot successfully execute our plan. He then mentioned that if he knew this was our address and that there is no parking then we wouldn't have came. He re-loaded his bakkie with the bed and started up his car. Out of anger and disappointment I cancelled the order with them and asked him to get the "f@ck" out of here with his bed. We will not be discriminated against!! All of a sudden the colour of our money was not good enough because of the complex we live in. Carmil was very apologetic about the situation that we now put in after this was confirmed. I will thus advise anyone agaisnt purchasing from them as we were left highly dissatisfied with the entire situation. My friends, family and acquaintances will be alerted.
