On 9 May 2022 I searched online to find a company to put up a Wendy house for my 73 year old mum who was affected by recent floods. I found Kandua who has service providers registered with them and refer to them as PROs. I contacted Kandua via email. They gave me a reference number and they referred a few companies to me. I was contacted by Collens from Priscilla's Construction. Collens quoted me initially R18 000.00 . Whilst on the same call I spoke to Owners Priscilla and her husband Thomas. Later the same day Thomas called me a few times to confirm Quoted price.

The next day 10 May Collins called me saying he needs to see the space and level of ground etc. Whilst checking that we spoke about flooring . i explained that my mum wanted full bricks as a base . So he suggested blocks and told me the remaining items required. We then decided that he sort it and we will then make the full price R20000.00 .He asked about deposit. So I told him mum has sent money via the bank. We will have to wait till it reflects. He continued to check with me for the ffg 3 days .

On 12 May Priscilla's construction was supposed to commence work. No one showed up. Around 7pm whatsapped to find out why they didn't come as the blocks were supposed to be laid on this day. At 9pm I received a reply saying they will be here the next day . By this time all communication was done from Priscilla's phone. On 13May Collins came through took me to the bank to withdraw deposit in his vehicle. I withdrew and paid him he required R9800.00. The very same day the shell was put up.

On 14 May work continued as it did Collins required more money for hardware which we paid. By the end of days work he required more money to pay workers. So by the end of the day Collins spoke to us saying that because of flooring we had to increase monies by R6000.00. I told him my mum don't have any more money all she had was R20000.00. He insisted so we told him we could only pay any extra R2000.00. Which will b paid I. Two weeks as my husband was going to arrange that money.

On 15 May Collins and his workers came through and worked also needed more money .To date a total amount of R21300.00 was paid leaving balance of R700.00

So they had stopped coming to work due to rains. After the rains we had informed Collins that there was problems in the Wendy house . roofing sheets were paper thin and was leaking during the rain. The wood he used was not meant for a Wendy house rather shacks and they were not treated wood it was the actual pallets broken and used.There are even rotten black wood and second hand deels used. There is Hugh gaps and holes in the walls . the floors have been cemented but is so uneven and rough. Some places on d floor were little pools of water after the rain. The main door had no door handles inside or out or any way to lock it.This door does not sit flush with the frame meaning the door is bigger than the frame. The door inside is same no handles or locking system . if the inside door is opened it does not stay open it slams shut Theres 2 small windows fitted in this 7x3m Wendy house. Looks smaller than toilet windows and of course with no handles or latches. We have contacted Collins who said he's coming to sort it .

Eventually he stopped taking my calls . So out of frustration I contacted Priscilla to complain about the terrible workmanship involved here and false Promise's by her workers. Priscilla then said to me that Collens no longer work for her and she didn't know he did this job. I immediately got hold of Kandua and complained about the service providers registered with them. I was rep**** by Mpumi who got hold of Priscilla to inquire. There is papertrail via email where Kandua contacted Collens and Priscilla asking them to complete job and repairs . Priscilla says she did not k ow about this Job and she has no money to sort it out. And Collins rep**** on 24 May saying he will come on 28 May to sort out. Ever since 24 May we could not get hold of Collens neither did he show up on the 28th . kandua put the Pressure on Priscilla because the job reference is with Priscillas Construction meanng she is responsible . On 2 June Priscilla came through having a look at the utter disaster Wendy house. Worked out what needs to be done amounting to a further + - R3000.00. Which Priscilla says she don't have and she didn't know about this job however she can help only with labour.

My mothers last money of R 22000.00 is gone in return for a Wendy house that looks like a shack. Leaking roof with the thinest material, rotten wood holes and Hugh gaps in the wall , second hand woods and deels, uneven flooring that can collect water in pools.Door that's to big for the frame neither can it close or lock tiny windows that remains open . The best part is termites are already getting into the wood forming a thick white like sand that's stuck on the walls inside and out and no one taking responsibility for this Hugh mess and disaster.
