poor back up service from Kandua

I was referred a pool repair contractor via the Kandua platform. A 1 day job is still not completed after a week (after paying an 80% deposit). Multiple excuses from contractor (Marvin Manyaka ie. personal tragedy, being arrested and requesting bail money, involved in a car accident. Wrote for support to *** for backup support but no response after a week with emails going unanswered. Doesn't seem like there's any vetting process occurring via the Kandua platform when requesting contractors to give consumers piece of mind.
