Kai Thai Moreleta - Rude & Inappropriate

Yesterday 27 August, as part of my husband’s 30th birthday celebration, I took us both for a 60 minute full body massage at Kai Thai Moreleta. When we got there, the staff were very friendly and helpful and everything started off well. We went into the room and as the ladies were wiping our feet down they spoke to each other in a foreign language motioning towards my husband and I and started giggling, I thought this was a bit strange but I ignored it. During the session the massages were wonderful and every now and then they would say something to each other and giggle. Towards the end of the session when they asked us to sit up for the final part of the massage, the lady who was doing my massage asked my husband if he didn’t eat a lot as he was very thin, a bit of a strange question to ask but we laughed and said that no matter how much he ate he never picked up weight, at this point I was still fine. She then continued and said “or do you eat all his food?” at which point a few jokes followed and the ladies continued to laugh about the fact that he was so skinny and I wasn’t and the session ended. This was when I realised what all the giggles were about since the beginning of our session, the fact that my skinny husband was with such a chubby wife. I laughed it off at the time but the more I think about it, the more I realise how absolutely disrespected, disgusted, offended and violated I currently feel. It is NO ONE’s place to comment on the appearance of someone else, especially not ask me if I was eating all my husband’s food because I’m bigger than him and then laugh about it like it’s a joke. This is outright rude and offensive. The massage the******s are there to give you a massage, help you relax a bit and leave feeling calm and rejuvenated, not insult you and make you feel like you’ve been mocked since you walked in. If you want to say something about your clients then save it until the session is over and the clients have left. I find this extremely distasteful and I will definitely never be returning to Kai Thai Moreleta nor will I ever refer anyone there.
